Internship(S) - Russian Translation and Text

This internship is located in the Russian Translation and Text Processing Section (RTTS) of the Conference Management Service (CMS), Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM) in Vienna. CMS operates administratively under Division for management (DM), United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV). The internship is for a minimum of two months between July and October 2023.

The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of the Chief of Section and the Terminology Focal Point.

**Responsibilities**:
The Interns will be responsible for the following duties:

- Learn and develop skills and general techniques through participation in standard UN document translation assignments with emphasis on documents that are specific to Vienna based organizations;

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:

- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). (OFFICIAL WRITTEN PROOF FROM THE UNIVERSITY SUPPORTING ONE OF THE ABOVE POSSIBILITIES MUST BE ATTACHED TO THE INSPIRA APPLICATION); for this particular internship position, studying for a Master's degree in Translation in a Russian language university or translation school will be an advantage.
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
