We are looking for an enthusiastic full-time **(senior) **research scientist** excited to reach this goal together with us and help grow Proxygen to the next level.

**What we are looking for**:

- PhD in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry, with a proven scientific track record that includes at least one first author publication.
- Strong interest in the field of drug discovery and experience or knowledge of medicinal chemistry and post-doctoral experience is preferred.
- Solution-oriented, persistent researcher with an independent, well-structured, goal-oriented working style with expert knowledge of modern organic chemistry.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues in different fields as well as collaborators at partner organizations.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English are required.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and team player mentality.

**What your main responsibilities will be**:

- Drive medicinal chemistry of hit validation, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization activities to identify molecular glue degrader compounds with appropriate pharmaceutical properties.
- Analysis and evaluation of bioassay, ADME-PK datasets and structural biology to design target compounds.
- Design of screening libraries for small molecule glue degrader hit discovery.
- Design of synthetic routes for compound optimization and scale-up.
- Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team to develop solutions to efficiently advance research and development projects.
- Coordination of outsourced chemistry activities with multiple partners.
