Your Responsibilities

The Imaging & Optics Facility of ISTA provides ‘state of the art’ Microscopy Application and Flow Cytometry services, as well as assistance in image analysis and custom optical development solutions. We are looking for a full time Cytometry & Microscopy Technician, for First Level Support & Facility infrastructure tasks, such as:
Basic operation-support of cytometry and/or microscopy equipment
Routine quality monitoring and system performance checks
Support with organizational tasks (bookings, calendars, shipping, ordering, etc.)
Support in general core facility and infrastructure tasks, (e.g., routine facility checks, organization of calibration standards and optical maintenance tools, etc.)
Contribution to the organization of events (equipment demonstrations, technical workshops and annual microscopy courses, etc.)
Assist in trainings and events (teaching, technical workshops and outreach)

Your Profile

BSc or MSc in Life Science/(bio-)physics or equivalent
First experience in lab-support of a core facility and/or academic environment
Strong interest in Microscopy, Cell Cytometry and Image analysis (knowledge scripting or statistics is of advantage)
Service-oriented team player
Precise, structured and reliable working style
Team-orientation combined with the ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills in English
