As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for the activities of the Laboratory Operations (Lab-Ops) and early-stage development (Preformulation). Are you curious, well-organized and looking for your professional challenge - then take this chance and join our team in Pharmaceutical Development.

**Your key responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Lead the laboratory operations for (pre-)formulation and process development of solid, semi-solid and liquid dosage forms.
- Management of the laboratory team and apprentice(s) including resource planning
- Supervise preformulation strategies with focus on drug substance characterization and reverse engineering of innovator drug products.
- Strong collaboration with other Pharmaceutical Development Scientists ensuring alignment on optimal resource distribution towards project need and priorities.
- Ensuring all production and physical-chemical laboratory work and data compilation for prototype development purposes in accordance with the agreed timelines.
- Review of raw data documents and ensuring the timely processing of OOX.
- Working and guiding laboratory work in compliance with SOPs, GxP regulations and HSE standards.
- Driving for continuous improvements of established processes, procedures, and methods in the department.
- Train and coach scientist, technicians, and/or temporary employees under training/education.

Minimum Requirements

**What you’ll bring to the role**:
**Essential**:

- MSc or Ph.D. in natural science. At least 3 years of experience in the pharma industry, preferably in predevelopment or both formulation and analytical development.
- Strong background in material characterization, preformulation and reverse engineering.
- Hands-on experience in method development in particle characterization (image analysis, laser diffraction, dynamic light scattering, dynamic and static imagine analysis), powder rheology, liquid and semi-solid rheology (rotational and oscillatory).
- Knowledge and proven experience with primary packaging and medical device selection and characterization.
- Knowledge and proven experience with pharmaceutical process development.
- Independent, well-organized way of working, team player.
- Very good communication and leadership skills.
- Good knowledge of English and German, both spoken and written.

**Desirable requirements**:

- Personality with can-do mentality and the ability to adopt to change
- Knowledge and proven experience with DOEs in pharmaceutical development
- Experience with pharmaceutical patents and Pharmacopeia monographs

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 60,212.18 Euro a year (on a full time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies. We are open for part-time and job sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
