Job Description

Sandoz is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Engineering Development to join our team. As a key member of our global engineering leadership, you will be responsible for managing engineering operations, including investments and maintenance for our development centers. You will also coordinate investment strategies between development and technical operations, as well as Sandoz business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a long-term investment portfolio based on business strategies by managing the multi-year capital expenditure plan for Sandoz development centers.
  • Coordinate key strategic development investments with Sandoz TechOps to identify and manage synergies and dependencies.
  • Define, control, and deliver key strategic development investment projects, ensuring project objectives of scope, budget, and schedule are maintained to achieve business needs.
  • Ensure development centers have appropriate engineering organization in place and Sandoz engineering processes in key areas of Capex expenditure and asset life-cycle management are applied.
  • Develop and own key facility and manufacturing design concepts to ensure value is created both operationally and financially after implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements and continuous improvement of quality relevant processes within area of responsibility.
Requirements:
  • 15 years general engineering experience, with at least 10 years in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Outstanding technical knowledge with demonstrated ability to deliver safe and fully compliant technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities leading a team aligned around business/technology/project processes.
  • Well-developed communication skills, ability to present comfortably to Senior Management and to Technical Experts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/understanding of key non-technical business processes, HR, Finance.
  • Advance HSe and GxP/QA knowledge.
  • Outstanding flexibility, adaptability, and sense of accountability.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills (team player mentality).
  • Self-driven with high learning agility, dynamic, ambitious, and passionate.
