Transportation Specialist

In line with business strategy, the Transportation Specialist manages transport allocations, daily activities, handling of the emergencies (in case of transport disruptions or tracing of lost luggage) and provides functional analysis for system enhancements.
- Minimum of 3 or more years of experience within transport reservations & ticketing, Global Distribution Systems (GDS) & Computer Reservations System (CRS);
- Business fluent in German and English. French is a strong advantage;
- Excellent knowledge of Amadeus and good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook);
- Ability to build personal credibility through in-depth product knowledge and to maintain professional internal and external relationships;
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively, to work flexibly to the needs of the business and under pressure;
- Self-starter with a high energy attitude and great sense of urgency and demonstrated robust negotiation, planning and organization skills;
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamic and requirements and ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both internally and externally, at all levels (oral and written.
- Manages the entire reservation process for bus, flights and train transfers, loading and facilitating of booking capabilities, availabilities and processes for bus and train transportation services;
- Books train tickets based on customer demands, ticket and invoice handling and issuing and monitoring of sales success of corresponding transportation product;
- Initiates measures to increase sales and customer sensibilization for available transportation products, coordinates and aligns with corporate internal and external stakeholders the business needs to negotiate and purchase the best suitable transport product to the best conditions;
- Prepares and keeps internal & external information and spreadsheet files updated (transports plans, transport schedules, sales information, costs files etc.);
- Creates and allocate PNRs in GDS, checking names and ticketing deadlines;
- Releases management of travel products based on contractual terms & conditions in alignment with Pricing;
- Supports operational management on ad-hoc requests helping guests on special requests on transport services provided including tracing of lost luggage;
- Handles internal and external operational disruptions regarding customers’ travel arrangements;
- Coordinates and solves IT issues regarding booking ability of transportation products on internal & external platforms, provides technical support of IATA reservation systems and ticketing (ticket rebooking and rerouting, cancellations and refunds);
- Closes collaboration with business intelligence department to perform check on data integrity of transport products.
