Then join our accomplished team The Faculty of History and Cultural Studies at the University of Vienna has a vacancy for a University Assistant (praedoc) at the Department of History starting in March. The position is advertised for 3 years, whereby the employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years. An extension up to 4 years is possible.

**Your personal sphere of influence**:
Your field of activity includes history didactics, historical-political didactics and civic education, related courses, the organization of lectures, workshops and conferences as well as collaboration on academic projects. They work cooperatively in a larger team of academics and write their own dissertation.

**Your future tasks**:
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
Participation in research projects / research studies in the field of history didactics, historical-political didactics or civic educatio
- n Participation in publications / academic articles / digital publications / presentation
- s We expect to finalize a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months
- . Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreemen
- t Supervision of student
- s You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching, administration and organisation of meetings, conferences, symposium
- s You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of history didactics or civic education
- . You work on your dissertation and its completion
- .

**This is part of your personality**: Professional competence: completed teaching degree in history for secondary schools; teaching experience in school
- s Methodological competence: profound knowledge in the field of history didactics and civic education and familiarity with empirical methods of the field (e.g. through a very good diploma or master thesis), specialist knowledge in history, dissertation concept in the field of didactics of history and/or civic educatio
- c Experience in the organisation of meetings and conference
- s High ability to express yourself both orally and in writin
- g Excellent command of written and spoken Englis
- h IT user skill
- s Ability to work in a tea
