Die Doctoral School of Historical and Cultural Studies wurde 2020 gegründet und bietet eine innovative wissenschaftliche Ausbildung von Doktorand:innen in neun Bereichen der historisch-kulturwissenschaftlichen Forschung an (Ägyptologie, alte Geschichte, Archäologie, Byzantinistik und Neugräzistik, europäische Ethnologie, Geschichte, Jüdische Studien, Kunstgeschichte und Urgeschichte und Historische Archäologie). Sie möchte talentierte, hochmotivierte und neugierige Studierende aus der ganzen Welt in die dynamische und inspirierende Gemeinschaft der Universität Wien holen, um gemeinsam im Herzen Europas an innovativen Dissertationsprojekten und der Weiterentwicklung der historisch-kulturwissenschaftlichen Spitzenforschung zu arbeiten.

Die DSHCS besetzt drei 3-jährige Stellen als Universitätsassistent:innen (praedoc). Erfolgreiche Kandidat*innen werden an einem der 16 Institute der Historisch-Kulturwissenschaften Fakultät arbeiten und einem der sieben Forschungsbereiche der DSHCS beitreten (Antike, Byzanz, Mittelalter; Archäologie und materielle Kultur; Frauen
- und Geschlechtergeschichte; gesellschaftliche und wirtschaftliche Räume; Kunstgeschichte
- und visuelle Kulturen; Osteuropa
- und Eurasienforschung; Staat, Politik und Governance in historischer Perspektive). Diese überschreiten und verbinden Epochen, Disziplinen und Regionen und ermöglichen, in einem einzigartigen interdisziplinären Umfeld zu arbeiten und zu forschen.

Sie beteiligen sich aktiv an Forschung, Lehre & Administration, das bedeutet:

- Sie arbeiten an Ihrem Forschungsprojekt und schreiben an Ihrer Dissertation.
- Sie unterrichten eigenständig auf Bachelor
- und Master-Niveau gemäß dem Kollektivvertrag.
- Sie nehmen an den Aktivitäten und Workshops Ihres Instituts und der DSHCS teil.
- Sie präsentieren Ihre Forschungsergebnisse auf Konferenzen und veröffentlichen in peer-reviewed Zeitschriften.

- Hoher Grad an Motivation, Ihr Doktoratsstudium erfolgreich innerhalb des vorgesehenen Zeitrahmens abzuschließen
- Soziale Kompetenz, Teamfähigkeit und Eigeninitiative
- internationale Erfahrung
- Sehr gute schriftliche und mündliche Ausdrucksfähigkeit

**Modell 3**:Die Vertragsdauer bei Anstellung beträgt **3 Jahre**. Zunächst befristet auf 1,5 Jahre wird das Dienstverhältnis automatisch auf 3 Jahre verlängert, wenn der Arbeitgeber nicht innerhalb der ersten 12 Monate eine Nichtverlängerungserklärung abgibt.
