The Organic Synthesis Group of Prof. Maulide in the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Vienna is currently seeking a PhD student with research experience in organic chemistry and chemistry in pharmacological and medicinal contexts. The position is advertised for 4 years, starting with a contract duration of 1,5 years which will automatically be extended to a duration of 4 years, unless the employer does submit a nonextension notification after 12 months.

A degree in Chemistry with profound knowledge and practical experience in the field of Organic Synthesis. Ability to work independently in the field of organic synthesis. Experience with modern synthetic and analytical methods for organic chemistry is desired, including working under inert conditions. Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, experience in publishing scientific papers is desirable. Experience in dealing with bioorganic, biological and medicinal questions (in an organic chemistry context) is desirable. Experience with software-supported analysis of complex-molecule structure is desirable.
