**Bechtel’s Clean Energy Business**

Bechtel has played a pivotal role in clean energy for decades, delivering more than 100,000MW of nuclear and hydro generation capacity globally, as well as landmark renewable energy projects such as Ivanpah Solar and California Valley Solar Ranch. Recently, we have been appointed together with JV partners as the Project Delivery Partner to Sun Cable. Today, the foundation of our clean energy strategy is developing and building core renewables projects (wind, solar PV, storage (compressed air, hydro, batteries etc.) and transmission), in addition to continuing our work in nuclear and newer technologies and energy transition supporting industries (e.g. hydrogen, green fuels, carbon capture, rare earths and recycling). To drive our global strategy, Bechtel Enterprises is increasing project development activity in the clean energy sector in our important growth market of Asia Pacific.

**Position Summary**

Joining the Bechtel Enterprises team in Asia Pacific as Director is an opportunity to be an important member of a small but fast-growing team that is leading a strategic and high growth business. We are looking for a talented and energetic individual to support clean energy project development across the Asia Pacific region. While the role will be based and focused on Australia, the Director will also have the opportunity to support development opportunities in Asia, with Vietnam, Taiwan and Indonesia being key markets. This role can be either be based in Sydney or Brisbane locations.

The role will include identifying new prospects for our businesses and advancing them through the development process. You will report to the Managing Director for Bechtel Enterprises, APAC who is based in Sydney and you will work collaboratively with Bechtel Enterprises and Bechtel business’ team members in Asian Pacific regional offices.

While clean energy is a key focus of the role, the role also will involve working closely with all our business lines that are active in Asia Pacific across a broad range of sectors, such as mining & metals, transport, defence, water, nuclear, energy, water, data centres and advanced manufacturing and technology. The position will work closely with business development, legal, and engineering, procurement and construction teams.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- **Clean Energy Development and Strategy**:

- The role will include identifying new prospects for our businesses and advancing them through the development process. Identify development prospects and/or potential co-development partners, including partner and project due diligence, off-take analysis, financial model development / bankability review, regulatory and connection review, etc.
- Advance development of assigned development projects from early-, mid-, and/or late-stages to financial close
- Undertake strategic market assessments in relation to energy transition growth areas for the GBUs, such as hydrogen
- Align projects with Bechtel’s long-term strategy and initiatives
- Represent Bechtel Enterprises with partners, customers, regulators and relevant authorities, community and other stakeholders
- Manage tasks according to and with accountability for budget and schedule
- Create and maintain project maps, databases, reporting tools, and tracking tools for assigned projects
- **
Financing services**:

- Creation and review of financial models
- Strengthen relationship with local and international relationship banks and ECAs
- Assist clients / customers in structuring innovative finance arrangements to support development projects
- ** PPPs**:

- Actively participating in equity work stream activities (e.g. commercial and finance working group) in relation to PPP bids in the transport and energy sectors

**Key Qualifications**:

- 8+ years of experience in project development and/or project finance
- Experience managing key development and/or PPP workstreams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization, networking, time management and financial analytical skills
