Taking on the role of a Trapped-Ion Development Engineer, you'll join a passionate, international team dedicated to making quantum computing a reality. Working closely with top-tier customers and academic partners, you'll lead the industrialization of trapped-ion quantum processors. Your new responsibilities include driving the development of cutting-edge ion trap chips and advancing their integration into quantum processing units (QPUs). In your new job you will: Drive technology development for trapped-ion quantum processor s , with focus on photonic interfaces Co-develop the next generations of QPUs with our commercial partners Enable the research community through projects with academic partners Supervise master and PhD students You are a proactive individual with a passion for new technologies, and are eager to join us on our quest to create a more sustainable future for everyone. You further define yourself through clear communication , and team player qualities . To thrive on your quantum adventure, you should: Be a highly motivated individual who wants quantum computing to become a reality Have a PhD in physics , quantum engineering , photonics, computational physics or similar Bring 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum optics , and/or (trapped-ion) quantum computing Be fluent in English , German skills or the willingness to learn is a plus We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification.
