**About the role** As a Web Developer at Sonder, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining our dynamic online presence. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and continuously enhancing our website using WordPress and headless CMS architecture. This role involves managing a comprehensive site, ensuring each page is responsive, optimised, and engaging. We’re looking for a candidate with deep expertise in WordPress development and hands-on experience with headless CMS solutions. Your mission will be to keep our website alive and thriving—addressing updates, implementing security enhancements, and swiftly addressing any issues. With your finger on the pulse of web performance, you’ll ensure our site remains fast, up-to-date, and delivering a seamless and user-friendly experience. **What you’ll be doing** - Build, update, and maintain the Sonder website using WordPress and headless CMS frameworks, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security - Collaborate and work closely with the marketing team (including our Brand Designer) to ensure that the Sonder website is visually appealing and user friendly - Optimise the website for speed, performance, conversion rates, and SEO to enhance user experience and effectiveness - Implement and manage integrations with various APIs and third-party services to ensure seamless functionality across platforms - Stay current with the latest trends in web development, particularly in WordPress and headless CMS technologies, and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects - Work with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions - Monitor website performance, report on key metrics, and make recommendations for improvements as necessary **Who are we looking for?** The ideal candidate is passionate, self-motivated, and takes pride in producing high-quality work every day.
