Job Description

As an ESG Expert at Erste Bank, you will contribute to implementing our transition to a net-zero portfolio by 2050 and net-zero banking operations by 2030. You will work closely with various teams, including governance, CSRD reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively to ensure a thorough understanding of legal, regulatory, and public policy measures in sustainability.
  • Monitor and analyze ESG regulatory developments in the banking sector and industries affecting our clients across CEE countries.
  • Regularly review and update our sustainability policies and internal frameworks based on changing regulations and expectations.
  • Support the organization and its ESG Group Office to implement and enhance CSRD reporting.
  • Participate actively in consultations on ESG topics with regulators such as the European Central Bank (ECB).
  • Collaborate and lead on key input and feedback from the Group, ensuring a clear strategic approach.
  • Integrate an ESG perspective into business activities and share knowledge on specific climate, environmental, and social topics.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent knowledge of ESG and around five years' experience of working in ESG.
  • Strong relationship-building and engagement skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence others, with a focus on collaboration.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to come up with ideas and deliver projects that benefit the bank and the planet.
  • Fluent in German and English.
