Danieli Engineering & Services GmbH, a leading manufacturer of plants and machines for producing metals, is seeking an experienced Shipping Manager to strengthen its team in Völkermarkt.
About the Job
This strategic role involves overseeing the shipping department, ensuring correct invoicing and shipment management, as well as an orderly and correct flow. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the department, motivating the team, and collaborating professionally with Managing Directors and other departments.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic activities, including negotiation with forwarders, individualization of workload, and order processing
- Active involvement in daily operative tasks, such as supervision, document preparation, and tracking shipments
- Interface with internal stakeholders, customers, banks, and authorities
- Leading the shipping team and promoting corporate culture and values
- Driving continuous improvement
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have completed education in logistics or a similar field and possess good knowledge of logistics, customs, and Incoterms. Leadership experience in a logistics environment is a plus. Proficiency in English (B2) and German (C1) is mandatory, along with confident handling of MS Office and ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA is a plus).
The position requires high-quality standards, customer orientation, and a proactive attitude. The candidate should be willing to travel, particularly to our Company Headquarter in Buttrio, Italy. A permanent working permission for the Austrian labour market is necessary.
