About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Low Level Agent Engineer to join our team at Dynatrace Austria GmbH. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial part in extending our Ruby Agent offering by implementing new features, changes, and improvements to our Ruby Agent, written in C, C++, and Ruby.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of performance and availability monitoring solutions for Ruby applications
  • Working primarily with Ruby and C++ (for native extensions)
  • Analyzing and understanding the inner workings of common Ruby gems
  • Gazing beyond common frameworks and gems with a deep understanding of Ruby
  • Independent design and implementation of new features and feature ownership
  • Intensive cooperation with local and international development teams

Requirements

  • Several years of experience as a Software Engineer with Ruby (priority) and C++
  • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry is a plus
  • Knowledge of different Ruby interpreters CRuby/JRuby is a plus
  • Knowledge of Ruby native extensions and FFI is a plus
  • Experience publishing Ruby Gems is a plus
  • Ability to focus on details but keep the mind open for the whole ecosystem
  • Team player and eager to learn innovative technologies
