The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is seeking a highly qualified Nuclear Safety and Security Specialist to join its team.

Job Description

Company Overview:

As a key player in the field of nuclear safety and security, the IAEA works with member states to develop and implement policies and guidelines aimed at ensuring the safe use of nuclear technology. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting these efforts by providing technical expertise and guidance on matters related to nuclear security.

Salary: The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at $77,326, a variable post adjustment, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses, and other benefits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To provide technical advice and support to member states on the implementation of international instruments and guidelines related to nuclear security;
  • To assist in the development and review of technical/scientific publications and training material related to nuclear security;
  • To work closely with national and international organizations to deliver projects aimed at supporting states in implementing nuclear security provisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have an advanced degree in a relevant field, such as science, physics, chemistry, engineering, or nuclear science, with at least seven years of relevant experience in implementing activities related to the security and/or safety of radioactive material.

They should also possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with knowledge of other official IAEA languages being an asset.
