Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Software and System Architect to play a pivotal role in the design and architecture of software and systems for safety-critical railway applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic international environment with a focus on innovation and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the architectural design and development of software systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as a technical authority, ensuring that system architectures meet customer specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive solution architectures by balancing stakeholder needs with technical feasibility, cost, and timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to both functional and non-functional requirements, including safety and security standards.
  • Collaborate effectively within an agile, multicultural team and coordinate with various business units.
Qualifications
  • Technical degree (FH, University) in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in full lifecycle software development and system architecture.
  • Experience in safety-critical industrial environments, particularly in the transportation sector.
  • Proficient in Linux environments and familiar with container technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, real-time systems, and fault-tolerant architectures.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (OpenStack) and containerization.
  • Relevant certifications in software/system architecture are advantageous.
  • Experience in an international context (multi-unit/multi-site) is a plus.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies is beneficial.
  • Fluent in both German and English.
