Key Responsibilities
As the Civil Engineering Project Manager, you will engage in a variety of initiatives aimed at facilitating the energy transition and achieving the goal of decarbonizing the city of Vienna by 2040. Your projects may include:
- Upgrading existing energy production facilities, such as enhancing waste incineration plants through circular economy principles.
- Developing new alternative energy generation sites, including biomass, wind farms, and geothermal plants.
- Implementing hydrogen production facilities and applications.
- Constructing combined generation plants for heating, cooling, and electricity, including both new builds and upgrades of existing facilities.
- Establishing waste management solutions, such as recycling plants and facilities for sewage sludge treatment and phosphorus recovery.
Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing construction sites and coordinating all involved parties, including clients, contractors, and partners.
- Creating, developing, and executing detailed project plans for energy infrastructure construction.
- Managing stakeholder relationships on construction sites, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Identifying and addressing risks associated with construction projects, and preparing contingency strategies.
- Ensuring quality assurance processes meet industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Administering project budgets, implementing cost control measures, and providing financial updates to stakeholders.
- Establishing and managing project timelines and milestones, ensuring stakeholder engagement at key decision points.
- Coordinating project teams and resources, managing budgets, and liaising with procurement departments.
- Securing necessary permits and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of demonstrable project management experience in the construction sector, particularly in industrial, energy, or transport infrastructure.
- Expertise in project management during both planning and construction phases.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills among diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Fluency in both German and English, with strong IT skills.
- Proficient in managing budgets and timelines.
- A willingness to work outdoors.
