Key Responsibilities

As the Civil Engineering Project Manager, you will be instrumental in various initiatives aimed at achieving the goal of decarbonizing Vienna by 2040. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Upgrading existing energy production facilities, focusing on circular economy principles.
  • Developing new alternative energy generation sites, including biomass, wind, and geothermal plants.
  • Facilitating hydrogen production projects through the establishment of production facilities.
  • Overseeing combined generation plants for heating, cooling, and electricity, including both new constructions and upgrades.
  • Managing waste generation and treatment projects, such as recycling plants and sewage sludge treatment facilities.

Core Duties:

  • Supervise construction sites and coordinate all stakeholders involved (clients, contractors, partners).
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans for energy infrastructure construction.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships on construction sites, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Identify and address risks related to construction projects, preparing contingency strategies.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee project budgets, implement cost control measures, and provide financial updates to stakeholders.
  • Establish and monitor project timelines and milestones, ensuring stakeholder engagement at key decision points.
  • Coordinate project teams and manage resources effectively, collaborating with the procurement department.
  • Ensure compliance with necessary permits and adherence to regulations and standards.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of project management experience in the construction sector, particularly in industrial, energy, or transport infrastructure.
  • Expertise in project management throughout planning and construction phases.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills among various stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Fluency in both German and English, along with high IT proficiency.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and timelines efficiently.
  • A willingness to work in outdoor environments.
