Daily Responsibilities

As the Project Engineering Manager (f/m/d) at Siemens Energy, you will oversee a multifaceted team of engineering professionals across various disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, civil, and process engineering, to successfully deliver projects within the Energy Solution Portfolio.

You will collaborate closely with the Project Management Team, including the General Project Manager and Commercial Project Manager, to engage in essential discussions with clients and their engineering consultants, ensuring clarity and precision in project details.

Your role will involve guiding your international engineering team through comprehensive design and scope evaluations, guaranteeing thorough coordination among disciplines and adherence to project specifications. Additionally, you will hold individual consultations with team members to address considerations related to scope, schedule, and budget.

The day concludes with a constructive dialogue with Site Management, establishing priorities for the forthcoming site visit.

Impactful Contributions

  • Facilitate energy transformation projects, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of Combined Cycle Power Plants and hybrid solutions, contributing to global decarbonization efforts.
  • Shape the future of energy through collaborations with external stakeholders (clients, consultants, authorities, suppliers) and internal teams, with a primary focus on technical aspects.
  • Lead, integrate, and mentor a diverse Engineering team, essential for fostering a unified approach towards shared goals in project bidding and execution.
  • Proactively manage engineering-related risks and opportunities while ensuring compliance with technical contract execution and documentation standards.

Qualifications

  • A university degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical project management.
  • Experience in power plants and related equipment, including site and commissioning experience, is advantageous.
  • Proven expertise in Engineering fields related to power generation, transmission, distribution, and EPC markets.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to adapt strategies to meet the evolving needs of the environment.
  • Capability to lead a globally dispersed Engineering team, driving high-performance outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 25%) to sites and client locations as project requirements dictate.
