Key Responsibilities
As the Civil Engineering Project Manager (m/f/d), you will engage in various initiatives within the energy transition framework aimed at achieving the decarbonization of Vienna by 2040, including:
- Upgrading existing energy production facilities, such as enhancing waste incineration plants through circular economy principles.
- Developing new alternative energy generation sites, including biomass, wind farms, and geothermal projects.
- Facilitating hydrogen production and application, such as establishing hydrogen production facilities.
- Implementing combined generation plants for heating, cooling, and electricity, focusing on both new constructions and modernizations of existing facilities.
- Managing waste generation and treatment projects, including recycling plants and sewage sludge treatment facilities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing construction sites and coordinating all involved stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and partners.
- Creating, developing, and executing detailed project plans for energy infrastructure construction.
- Engaging with stakeholders on construction sites, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with internal and external teams.
- Identifying and addressing risks related to energy infrastructure projects, and preparing contingency strategies.
- Ensuring quality assurance processes meet industry standards, client expectations, and regulatory compliance.
- Managing project budgets, implementing cost control measures, and providing financial updates to stakeholders.
- Establishing and monitoring project timelines and milestones, ensuring relevant stakeholders are consulted at key decision points.
- Coordinating project teams, managing budgets, and liaising with the procurement department.
- Securing necessary permits and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Over 8 years of proven project management experience with on-site involvement in the construction industry, particularly in industrial, energy, or transport infrastructure.
- Expertise in project management throughout planning and construction phases.
- Strong negotiation, coordination, and conflict management skills among various stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Fluency in both German and English, with strong IT skills.
- Proficient in managing budgets and timelines.
- Willingness to work in outdoor environments.
