KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer and oversee Windows-based applications within high-availability production and non-production settings.
  • Support and enhance .NET-based applications, including those built on .NET Core and ASP.NET frameworks.
  • Work collaboratively with development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure that applications are hosted on dependable and secure infrastructures.
  • Configure, optimize, and refine application environments to achieve peak performance and efficient resource utilization.
  • Deliver advanced 2nd and 3rd line incident support to ensure prompt and effective resolution of issues.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents and problems, closely monitoring SLAs to meet performance objectives.
  • Enhance monitoring and reporting capabilities using tools such as AppDynamics, Kibana, and SCOM.
  • Automate and script manual processes to boost efficiency and maintain existing operational scripts.
  • Implement best practices for application operations, including change management, release management, and capacity planning.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements across operations.
  • Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and stakeholders, providing guidance and support on technical issues.
  • Create and maintain thorough technical documentation to ensure operational continuity.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely support for critical incidents.
  • Mentor and assist junior team members, promoting their professional development and growth within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience in high-availability, 24/7 production environments.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience managing Windows-based applications.
  • Proficient with monitoring and reporting tools such as AppDynamics, Kibana, and SCOM.
  • Strong background in hosting applications for both .NET and Java.
  • Expertise in web and application servers, particularly IIS (Internet Information Services).
  • Experience managing Windows-based infrastructure.
  • Solid background in automation and scripting to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly PowerShell.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure components, including DNS, operating systems, and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and containerization is advantageous.
  • Basic programming skills in C# are beneficial.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and achieve results.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a focus on scripting and automation.
  • Effective communication and training capabilities.
  • Thorough understanding of best practices in application operations, including change management, release management, and capacity planning.
  • Experience in setting up, optimizing, and fine-tuning application environments.
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Experience facilitating communication between technical teams and stakeholders.
