Responsibilities
A core competency of this position is the ability to translate the business challenges and aspirations of SAP clients into actionable tactical and strategic roadmaps that chart the deployment of digital solutions offered by SAP, grounded in a deep understanding of our clients' needs.
- Serve as the principal SAP architect for our global clients in Enterprise Architecture Transformation Planning, utilizing established methodologies and the latest Enterprise Architecture Management tools.
- Act as a consultant to clients with a broad understanding of applications, Lines of Business (LoB), or industry specifics.
- Assess a client's current situation and objectives holistically (e.g., industry, LoB) and translate them into a business-driven IT roadmap and architecture design based on SAP's offerings and cloud strategy, with a clear focus on client success.
- Challenge existing solutions and approaches to generate innovative and future-ready outcomes.
- Identify key value drivers and develop compelling, outcome-based value propositions to guide client decision-making.
- Operationalize clients' business strategies and identify relevant components, approaches, and inputs to derive optimal solutions, helping clients leverage the unique advantages of our cloud offerings.
- Clarify expectations from various stakeholders, especially in complex situations; create solutions that integrate diverse perspectives and serve as a foundation for future SAP business. Collaborate with clients, partners, and SAP teams to achieve optimal implementation.
- If necessary, take a step back and redefine concepts to ensure continuous improvement (agility in solution design).
- Drive knowledge management and innovation initiatives based on experiences with clients.
- Document successful methodologies, tools, etc., and make them accessible internally at SAP.
- Support clients in their transition to SAP S/4HANA / Intelligent Enterprise.
- Fully comprehend and leverage the capabilities of SAP's technology platforms.
- Collaborate with our experts to deliver complex remote and onsite services for global clients, focusing on system optimization, conceptual planning, and road mapping while empowering clients with the latest best practice knowledge.
- Collaborate and co-innovate with the respective development and product teams.
Profile
- Extensive knowledge with a proven track record in any of the following areas where you have acted as a team lead or solution architect:
o Finance
o Logistics (e.g., MM, EWM, TM)
o Digital Supply Chain (e.g., PP, QM, PM)
o Supply Chain Planning (e.g., APO, IBP, PPDS)
o Other SAP solution areas
- Strong understanding of SAP cloud solutions and product roadmap (S/4HANA, RISE, Digital Supply Chain, or others)
- Knowledge of SAP Corporate Strategy and SAP Product Strategy: Ability to discuss the latest SAP Strategy and its related pillars with clients.
- Knowledge of SAP Products and Methods:
o Advanced knowledge of SAP Product Portfolio (on-premise and cloud solutions, S/4HANA)
o Industry Solutions (in related industry area) - Leverage industry and SAP reference architectures
- Certification/competence in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
o S/4HANA Functional Modules as mentioned above.
o Project Management (e.g., SAP Activate, PMI or SAP internal certification)
o SAP Professional Architect
o TOGAF
o Signavio
o Lean-IX
- Ability to work under pressure, in critical situations, and tight deadlines.
- Ability to deliver clear, concise presentations and communicate complex information effectively.
- Willingness and ability to travel to clients.
- Resilience in challenging client situations to sustain Enterprise Architecture engagements and ensure their success.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
