Technical Manager for Iron and Steelmaking Projects

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our Iron and Steelmaking team at Primetals Technologies. As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of iron and steelmaking projects from contract award to closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical documents and commercial terms to ensure compliance with customer contracts.
  • Prepare project-related tender documents in coordination with the engineering and technology department.
  • Select the best supplier for equipment under consideration of project requirements.
  • Closely track supplier progress and ensure timely shipment of equipment to the building site.
  • Coordinate preparation of customer documentation for quality, delivery, erection, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Support site team for erection and commissioning issues.
  • Contribute to claim management for equipment in close coordination with purchasing department.
  • Contribute to project closure and lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Technical education (e.g. mechanical engineering, industrial engineering)
  • Professional experience in adequate technical functions (e.g. technology, engineering, installation)
  • Basic knowledge in project management methods and tools, know-how of contract law and regulations for project business
  • Work experience in international teams preferred
  • Willingness for international travels and for site delegations
  • Advanced knowledge in English and German
