Salary
An estimated annual gross salary of €72,500 (based on 38.5 hours/week) is expected for this role in Austria. Depending on qualifications and experience, an overpayment may be offered in line with the market.
Job Description
We're seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our Pricing and Promotions domain within the Engineering & Operations organization. As an Engineering Manager, you'll drive efficient product delivery on time and within budget, guide team members' growth, and contribute to shaping our technical direction.
Responsibilities:
- Define product vision and strategy, considering people, process, product, and capacity aspects.
- Ensure team deliverables adhere to timelines and commitments made, focusing on scalability and resilience of existing applications.
- Evaluate workload and identify potential bottlenecks for successful project delivery, ensuring necessary resources and skills are available.
- Empower teams, unlocking their potential, and facilitating progress towards set goals, while identifying and removing technical impediments.
- Manage performance and provide coaching on the job and individual development to meet business and technical expectations.
- Create a productive, agile environment, aligning with other Teams, and ensuring company policies and product/tech processes are well-coordinated.
- Monitor and optimize budget costs related to product expenses.
Requirements:
- Strong software engineering & design fundamentals with extensive former hands-on design & development experience (8+ years within software development practices out of which at least 3+ years as a technical and/or team leader).
- Strong communication, people management, and team leadership skills.
- An extensive and recent contribution to process, Agile, and Lean fundamentals.
- Experience in e-commerce business.
- Extensive experience and exposure to software tooling and practices (wiki and ticketing - ideally Atlassian, ci/cd, release cycle, automation, monitoring, support, and operation).
- Knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and PostgreSQL.
- Practical experience in backend development.
- Knowledge and experience on JVM-based languages is a bonus.
