We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at REWE International AG. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our critical infrastructure and services.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Implement Reliable Infrastructure: Develop and maintain highly reliable and scalable infrastructure and services using cloud platforms (e.g. GCP).
- Ensure System Reliability and Monitoring: Develop and apply best practices for system reliability, monitoring, and incident response.
- Automate Repetitive Tasks: Automate repetitive tasks using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and SaltStack.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis of system failures and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of services using CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Gitlab).
- Document System Architecture and Processes: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, processes, and procedures.
- Establish Service Level Indicators and Objectives: Establish and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to ensure system reliability using monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Perform Capacity Planning and Optimization: Perform capacity planning and optimization to handle growth and scale.
- Lead Incident Management and Post-Mortem Processes: Lead incident management and post-mortem processes to ensure continuous improvement.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to site reliability engineering.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ Years of Experience as SRE or DevOps Engineer: 5+ years of experience as an SRE, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong Understanding of Cloud Infrastructure and Containerization: Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (specifically GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in Scripting and Programming Languages: Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Java, Python, Go, Bash).
- Experience with Monitoring and Observability Tools: Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Fluentd, Splunk).
- Solid Knowledge of Networking, Security, and System Administration: Solid knowledge of networking (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP), security best practices (SSL/TLS, firewalls, IAM), and system administration (Linux, Windows).
- Experience with Incident Management and CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with Incident Management and its tools (Jira, ServiceNow) and CI/CD pipelines and tools (Gitlab).
- Familiarity with Database Management Systems and Version Control Systems: Familiarity with database management systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and version control systems (Git, SVN).
