Key Responsibilities- Develop and Improve Software Architecture: You will work closely with our cross-functional product team to design, develop, and improve the software architecture and features of our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with the Team: As a team player, you will work closely with our engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
- Write Server-Side Code: You will write high-quality server-side code that works, focusing on performance, testability, and reliability, and participating in coding reviews to exchange knowledge with your peers.
- Implement REST Endpoints: You will implement REST endpoints for data exchange between the frontend and backend, as well as between external services, using our technology stack, including Java 11+, Spring Framework, and AWS services.
- Learn and Grow: You will have the opportunity to learn about the specialty coffee industry and have a significant impact on the livelihoods of tens of thousands of coffee producers.
- We use Java 11+ and the Spring Framework for our backend development.
- We leverage an AWS RDS MySQL Aurora Cluster as our relational database and DynamoDB as our NoSQL data store.
- We use Redis for session caching and AWS RDS Postgres for our Data Warehouse.
- We follow the JSON:API specification for our REST services.
- We write Unit and Integration Tests using JUnit, Mockito, and Rest Assured, and strive to apply test-driven development where it makes sense.
- We monitor our applications using Data Dog end-to-end.
- We use an automated CI/CD pipeline to build and deploy our application using Docker Containers.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a proven track record in developing non-trivial applications in a professional setting.
- Several years of experience as a backend engineer on a large code base with a JVM-based language such as Java, Kotlin, or Scala.
- A deep knowledge and passion for software development that goes beyond coding.
- A team player mindset with great communication skills that allow you to explain complex technical details to a non-technical audience.
- A competitive salary range of €49K to €62K gross/year, based on experience and qualifications.
