We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Head of Sustainability. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing our group sustainability strategy and transformation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the group sustainability strategy and transformation through collaboration with senior leadership and responsible sustainability managers within the divisions.
- Draft and implement suitable organizational policies and procedures relating to sustainability, including relevant short-, mid-, and long-term measurements.
- Draft and prepare reports, presentations, and proposals for the Management Board and other internal key stakeholders.
- Report and communicate on sustainability performance for external stakeholders as required.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable sustainability-related laws and regulations in close collaboration with all divisions of the group.
- Owning and initiating various projects under the sustainability program.
- Achieving and maintaining appropriate sustainability certifications on a group level.
- Ongoing monitoring and interpretation of regulatory developments.
- Acting as a subject matter expert and sparring partner for deriving ESG-related business requirements, risks, and opportunities within the group.
- Functional leadership for the sustainability managers within the group as well as all involved and relevant topic owners.
- University degree with specialization in economics, environment, or sustainability.
- Experience in developing ESG processes and policies, including implementation on a corporate level.
- Knowledge of current and upcoming regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in working across multiple countries and regional levels.
- Proven ability to act as an advisor to Senior Management on the full spectrum of ESG issues.
- Languages: Fluent English is a must, German skills are a plus.
- Critical Thinking: You use problem-solving skills to assist in determining priorities, finding timely solutions to departmental or company-wide issues.
- Collaboration: Successfully collaborates on projects and programs with leadership and other team members.
- Accountability: You take responsibility for consistent completion and follow-up on departmental projects and provide excellent service delivery.
- Flexibility: You are responsive to change and demonstrate adaptability.
- Positive Approach & Can-do Attitude: You maintain a positive approach while completing daily tasks and when faced with adversity, as well as encourage and recognize the contribution of others.
As a member of the Umdasch Group, you will be eligible for different benefits, such as Vital (our health program), our canteen, and much more. A salary in line with the market is offered for this position, which is based on the specific qualification and adequate professional experience. The minimum annual gross salary for this position in Austria is 57,640.00 EUR according to the collective agreement (woodworking industry).
