We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our engineering team at Shopstory GmbH. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of our no-code automation platform for marketing and e-commerce.

About the Role

  • As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for developing moderately sized features and improvements to our product, collaborating closely with our CTO Robert, Product Management, and other engineers on the team.
  • You will craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices, advocating for these standards through code review and recognizing technical debt to argue for its resolution and implement solutions.
  • Additionally, you will take ownership of improving product quality, security, and performance, solving technical problems of moderate scope and complexity independently.
  • Another key aspect of this role is providing mentorship for Junior and Intermediate Engineers on your team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities.
  • You will also collaborate with stakeholders outside of the Engineering team, communicating technical concepts effectively.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • To succeed in this role, you should have 5+ years of professional experience with elements of our tech stack, including NodeJS, TypeScript, DynamoDB, AWS Cloud Infrastructure (CDK, ECS, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, CloudFront, EventBridge), Vitest, Git, and Docker.
  • A strong understanding of software development principles and practices, as well as excellent organizational skills and a positive, solution-oriented mindset, are also essential.
  • You should be fluent in English, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote-friendly and multinational work environment. Proficiency in German is a plus but not required.
