About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our team as a leadership role within the Electrical Engineering department. This position will be responsible for designing and documenting electrical and pneumatic controls of Material Handling Systems (MHS) for FORTNA clients.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a background in Electrical Engineering/design and experience providing leadership to the Electrical Engineering project team and producing quality deliverables during project implementation. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading medium scope and less complex projects through the detail design and implementation phase.
- Providing electrical system input to Project Engineers during design review meetings to ensure electrical requirements are understood.
- Supporting Project Engineers during transition from Detailed Design to Final Engineering.
- Reviewing and providing Electrical Engineering input to Description of Operation (DOO) & Functional Specification (FSD) documentation.
- Facilitating project meetings, including developing meeting agendas and providing meeting minutes to team members.
- Providing Electrical Engineering input to MHS implementation plans.
- Developing Electrical Engineering work plans to ensure successful project milestone achievements.
- Assisting Project Engineers during Speeds & Feeds reviews.
- Leading Controls Layout review meetings with internal teams and Clients.
- Leading and directing support resources during development of project deliverables and ensuring deliverables meet Drawing Quality Control (DQC) requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A 4-year engineering degree from an accredited college with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year degree from an accredited college with 5-7 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 15 years of relevant experience in electrical design of complex automated material handling systems.
- Experience with conveyor control process, including photoeyes, solenoids, variable frequency drives, line scanners, and print and apply applications.
- Knowledge of and ability to work with and manage multiple suppliers.
- Ability to work effectively on a team and support high levels of performance.
- Advanced collaboration and communication skills, including written and verbal communication.
- Experience working with MS Project and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience in standard design of relevant material handling equipment for this position.
- Proficiency in the use of E-Plan for electrical design.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
