Drive Innovation in AI Configuration and Planning

Siemens Technology is seeking a dynamic Principal Key Expert to drive the research and development of AI-based configuration and planning technologies. As a key member of our global Technology Field 'Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence', you will be responsible for designing and driving the technology roadmap and sustainable development of our Configuration and Planning technology portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and drive the technology roadmap for AI-based configuration and planning technologies
  • Transform tools and solutions for complex tasks in business processes to the next level by analyzing technical trends and deriving improvement actions
  • Initiate projects with Siemens business units to support them solving customer demands where configuration technologies can make a difference
  • Initiate research projects inside Siemens Technology as well as with external community partners
  • Technically advise management and business partners on implementation of complex tasks with regards to system concepts, innovation, technical risk potential, and competitor analysis
  • Actively and systematically develop patent portfolios
  • Contribute to expert networks inside Siemens and in academia, and present/publish scientific results on international conferences/journals
Requirements:
  • Internationally known expert in AI technologies focusing on product configuration and planning technologies with 10+ years R&D experience
  • Strong expertise and experience in product and systems configuration, mass customization, variability management, knowledge representation and reasoning, constraint satisfaction and optimization, logic programming, and application of hybrid AI and generative AI
  • Strong industrial business and customer understanding
  • Advanced strategic thinking
  • Advanced communication and leadership skills
  • Very good skills of written and oral German and English

The gross annual salary for this position is at least EUR64,734,-. Depending on education and experience, overpayment is possible.
