Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team at REWE International AG. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based infrastructure solutions using Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and management of applications in Kubernetes clusters
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IAC) for Kubernetes using tools like Terraform, Ansible, etc
  • Design and architect Kubernetes container platforms
  • Further development and operations of our state-of-the-art Kubernetes Platform as a member of a highly motivated team
  • Cooperation with related product teams in a dynamic DevOps environment
  • Documentation and knowledge sharing about troubleshooting and best practices
Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux with experience ideally as a SysAdmin
  • Knowledge of administering and advanced usage of Kubernetes
  • Knowledge and prior experience in virtualization and containerization
  • Excellent understanding of computer networking
  • Experience and solid understanding of cloud computing service providers, specifically GCP
  • Awareness of and hands-on experience in hardening and security practices
  • Hands-on experience with automation, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible or Terraform
  • Knowledge of multiple of the following topics:
    • Gitops and CI/CD tools
    • Agile development
    • Logging and Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, fluentd, etc.
    • Software-Defined Networking and Software-Defined Storage
    • Enterprise storage systems
    • Backup/restore and recovery procedures in production environment
    • Lifecycle management, updates, upgrades
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java or Go is a plus
  • Experience with cloud computing infrastructure technologies and products such as OpenStack is a plus
  • Prior experience with ITSM tools, specifically Jira, is a plus
  • Fluency in English
