We are currently seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Optimization Expert to join our team in this role.
About the RoleThis position is part of our Global Products Group, which focuses on developing cutting-edge solutions for Lam's etch and deposition products. As a Manufacturing Process Optimization Expert, you will play a crucial role in supporting the new product pilot production factory, virtual manufacturing, or high-volume manufacturing production factory.
Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the planning, development, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations. You will be responsible for troubleshooting technical, quality, and production challenges, optimizing manufacturing costs, and shaping our commitment to innovation and efficiency in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
- Design and implement safe and cost-effective complex equipment and methods of assembly for all phases of manufacturing.
- Develop and define process and methods for high-volume manufacturing, including operations method sheets, routing, and sequencing.
- Perform virtual build and create sequences of assembly.
- Investigate root causes of operational problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes or resolve problems, reducing costs, improving product quality, and cycle time.
- Review and develop designs that improve product manufacturability and assembly.
- Coordinate new product builds in pilot production manufacturing, partnering with manufacturing and product engineers.
- Create and release engineering drawings and bill of materials using Engineering Change Management processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
- Skillful troubleshooting capabilities in electro/mechanical assemblies.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) with structured problem-solving and decision-making.
- Proficiency in software applications such as CAD modeling, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or Product Data Modeling (PDM) systems.
- Experience in Engineering Change Management Processes.
