Position Overview:
The Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt is excited to offer a position within the framework of the Ada Lovelace Programme, focusing on the project titled Streaming of Holographic Content and its Impact on the Quality of Experience.

Employment Details:
- Employment Level: 100% (40 hours/week)
- Annual Salary: EUR 50,103.20 (gross), classified under B1
- Duration: Limited to 4 years

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in an interdisciplinary research initiative titled A Machine Learning Approach to Smart Electricity Load Management, which merges expertise from both the Department of Economics and the Department of Networked and Embedded Systems.
- Conduct independent research aimed at completing a dissertation and obtaining a doctoral degree.
- Present research findings through publications and at academic conferences.
- Participate in teaching activities.
- Collaborate on administrative and organizational tasks.
- Contribute to public relations efforts.

Qualifications Required:
- A diploma or master's degree in fields such as computer science, data science, economics, electrical engineering, information systems, information technology, mathematics, or statistics from a recognized institution.
- A solid academic record.
- A keen interest in developing algorithms for analyzing large and complex datasets, particularly in big data-based econometric impact and evaluation research.
- Proficiency in scientific programming languages (e.g., Python or R).
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in areas such as Econometrics, Machine Learning, Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring, or Time Series Analysis.
- Strong social and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively in teams.
- High motivation and a results-oriented approach.
- Capability to work independently on scientific projects with a focus on quality and precision.
- Skills in scientific dissemination, including publications.

Our Offer:
This role is designed to facilitate the vocational and academic training of graduates from diploma or master's degree programs, with the objective of achieving a corresponding doctoral degree. The position is funded through the university's Ada Lovelace Programme, which promotes interdisciplinary research. The successful candidate will receive joint supervision from professors in both computer engineering and economics, and will be affiliated with one of the two departments.
