Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join our team at the Institute for Microelectronics, TU Wien. As a Research Assistant, you will play a key role in the development of computational frameworks and models for process simulation of semiconductor-based devices.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for developing simulation strategies that incorporate physical, empirical, and machine learning models to emulate processes such as deposition and etching of semiconductor materials. You will also be expected to develop geometrical models and solutions to emulate complex problems in semiconductor device physics.
Collaboration with global leaders in the microelectronics industry and scientific software development is a key aspect of this role. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement cutting-edge computational frameworks and models.
Requirements- Advanced programming skills in C++ and/or Python
- Experience in utilizing third-party (scientific) libraries
- Background in computational material science is a plus
- Familiarity with GNU/Linux
- Team player, eager, and reliable
- Proactive and self-reliant
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
This position is subject to the collective agreement of the TU Wien for scientific workers and employees, employment group B1. The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. and the gross salary is approximately 46,000.00 EUR.
