Category Management Specialist for Fresh Produce

As a Category Management Specialist for Fresh Produce at REWE International AG, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful procurement and sales of fresh produce across our international stores. This challenging and rewarding position requires strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our category management efforts for fresh produce. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring negotiations with suppliers, negotiating contracts, prices, and delivery terms to secure the best deals for our customers.
- You will build and maintain close relationships with farmers, growers, and suppliers to ensure a continuous supply of high-quality products.
- Plan production quantities at an international level, taking into account market conditions, weather forecasts, and product quality standards.
- Monitor market trends and make informed decisions based on data-driven insights.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A commercial education, ideally a university degree in economics or business administration, and at least 3-5 years of professional experience in category management.
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Office, merchandise management systems, and databases.
- A good command of English and basic knowledge of German.
- High analytical and organizational skills, as well as a careful and precise way of working.
- Assertiveness, negotiating skills, and the ability to solve problems and manage conflicts.
