POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Technical Team Leader (m/f/d) at Sportradar, you will take charge of guiding a cross-functional product team in executing their roadmap while also fostering the professional growth of engineers. Collaborating closely with the Product Manager, you will oversee the technical strategy to ensure that our product scales effectively with the increasing demands of our expanding clientele. Your role will be pivotal in coaching and mentoring engineers, equipping them with the skills necessary for career advancement. This position is hands-on, allowing you to engage in coding while balancing other responsibilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the Tribe's Engineering Leadership group, contributing to critical topics such as operational issues, security, incident management, DevOps, audit, and compliance; engineering roadmap; and SDLC alignment and enhancement plans.
  • Oversee recruitment, development, performance management, and retention strategies for all team members.
  • Provide line management duties focused on coaching and mentoring techniques aligned with agile principles and values.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where team members feel empowered to innovate, experiment, and learn from setbacks.
  • Ensure open and effective communication channels that promote knowledge transfer and alignment within the team.
  • Act as the local point of contact, coordinating with the People Partner, Office Manager, and IT Helpdesk to assist engineers based locally with support related to equipment, software access, personal issues, and onboarding new team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in agile software development, particularly with complex systems serving a large user base.
  • Demonstrated hands-on leadership experience in managing a team of engineers.
  • Extensive experience in one or more high-level programming languages.
  • Professional background in both front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., Go, Python) in contemporary software development.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience in microservices development and operations.
  • Familiarity with various cloud service providers such as Google Cloud and AWS.
  • Experience with AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, and Kubernetes solutions like GKE and EKS.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience with different database technologies, including Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and BigQuery.
  • Experience in building APIs using specifications like OpenAPI.
  • Experience integrating third-party data feeds.
  • Experience in constructing data pipelines utilizing event-driven architecture.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, such as GitLab, for managing application lifecycles.
  • Experience with Docker or other containerization solutions.

The minimum monthly salary for this position aligns with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, with potential for overpayment based on qualifications and experience.
