We are seeking an experienced Strategic Commodity Buyer - Steel Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations and supply chain department, you will be responsible for purchasing direct material in the area of steel. Your primary focus will be on defining the commodity strategy and supplier portfolio, taking over the inquiry and offer process, as well as evaluating, selecting, and developing national and international suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiating contracts and prices with suppliers">
  • Conducting SWOT analysis and benchmark analysis to identify opportunities for improvement">
  • Developing and implementing strategies to optimize procurement processes and improve supplier relationships">
  • Maintaining effective communication and coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of procurement activities">

Requirements

">

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

">
  • ">
  • A commercial or technical education (HAK, HTL) or completed studies (FH, University) in logistics, business administration, or mechanical engineering">
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, preferably in the automotive industry or an international industrial company, with steel commodity experience being an advantage">
  • Proactive and dynamic buyer personality with technical affinity and passion for high-tech products">
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment">
  • Good English language skills, both written and spoken, with German knowledge being an asset">
  • A willingness to travel internationally">

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package, including a minimum annual gross salary of EUR 59,766.98, based on the collective agreement for the metal industry. Depending on your qualifications and professional experience, we also offer an attractive and performance-related salary with corresponding overpayment.
