Job Summary

We are offering an exciting full-time position in our Operations & Supply Chain department. As a Lead Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing direct material in the area of steel, defining commodity strategies, and managing supplier portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Purchasing direct material in the area of steel
  • Defining commodity strategies and managing supplier portfolios
  • Taking over inquiry and offer processes, evaluating, selecting, and developing national and international suppliers
  • Negotiating contracts and prices with suppliers
  • Conducting SWOT analysis and benchmark analysis
  • Coordinating global strategy and communication

Requirements

  • Completed commercial or technical education (HAK, HTL) or completed studies (FH, University) in logistics, business administration, or mechanical engineering
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, preferably in the automotive industry or an international industrial company, with steel commodity experience being an advantage
  • Proactive and dynamic buyer personality with technical affinity and passion for high-tech products
  • Communicative team player with negotiation skills and ERP routine, ideally in SAP
  • Good English skills, both written and spoken, with German knowledge being an advantage
  • Willingness to travel internationally
