Salary: Remuneration group 15 TV-L (€63,755 - €90,225 per annum)

Job Description:

The Chief Information Officer has the following key responsibilities:

  • Regulation of the internal organization, deployment of existing personnel and resources, and management of facilities
  • Decisions on admission to use IT resources in accordance with user regulations and distribution among users as well as exclusion from use
  • Determining and implementing measures for the operation and support of central resources
  • Preparation of annual cost accounting (overview of resource usage)
  • Notifications of financial requirements for subsequent years
  • Preparation of the URZ's economic and investment plan based on the university's overall IT planning in agreement with the Director
  • Deputizing for the Director of the University Computer Centre in their absence

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completed university degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, business informatics, administrative informatics, or administrative business administration, or comparable qualification with relevant skills and experience
  • Several years of management experience in the IT sector, ideally in a university environment
  • Sound knowledge of IT infrastructure, IT security, and data protection, as well as experience in administrative IT
  • Experience in implementing digitalization projects and digital transformation, as well as applying for and processing third-party funding
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement innovative solutions
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
