About the Role

Overview

Gleeds is seeking a highly skilled Construction Environment Manager to oversee environmental risks, permit requirements, and identify opportunities for improvements to the general contractor's performance and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective environmental management plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on environmental risks and mitigation strategies to the general contractor and project stakeholders.
  • Review and approve permit applications to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with EHS staff to address collaborative risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Attend site and client meetings to provide environmental expertise and support.
  • Conduct regular site walkovers to identify potential environmental hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide environmental support to the data centre operations manager to ensure compliance with environmental and social aspects of the project.
  • Maintain a tracker spreadsheet to log environmental events or incidents.
  • Provide regular reports to the client on environmental performance and compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure the client's operations team understands permit and legislative requirements.

About You

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance management within the construction sector.
  • Strong background in site supervision of schedule-focused construction sites.
  • Excellent knowledge of European environmental regulations impacting the construction industry.
  • Knowledge and practice experience working in field planning/coordination, progress reporting, risk identification and escalation, and schedule/budget oversight.
  • Ability to handle and interpret large amounts of information and confidential information.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to integrate with teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English.
