Nuclear Safety and Security Partnership Specialist

The IAEA's Department of Nuclear Safety and Security formulates and implements the agency's nuclear safety and security programme. The programme encompasses the IAEA's activities to protect people and the environment from radiation exposure and responds to the needs of its Member States related to nuclear safety and nuclear security.
The Office of Safety and Security Coordination (NSOC) is located in the Office of the Deputy Director General, Head of the Department. Its mission is to ensure the technical consistency and effective coordination of the IAEA's activities in the nuclear, radiation, transport and waste safety and nuclear security programmes.
The Network Management and Partnership Section (NMPS) is responsible for ensuring the further development of the Global Nuclear Safety and Security Framework by facilitating knowledge management, knowledge networks and capacity building. The section acts as a focal point of contact for extrabudgetary projects with donors, partners and IAEA internal organizational units and provides for departmental level monitoring and evaluation of all extra-budgetary projects.
- About the Role
- The consultant will provide relevant skills and share experience and support the coordination of project management work for activities of the Global Nuclear Safety and Security Network (GNSSN) and its associated regional and thematic networks, as well as for the capacity building initiatives and Partnerships and Resource Mobilization (PRM).
- The consultant will contribute to the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting of the project activities.
Responsibilities

- Provide project management for the implementation and tracking of GNSSN activities and capacity building initiatives;
- Contribute to and facilitate the drafting and review of relevant documents and reports pertinent to the networks' activities and capacity building initiatives;
- Identify opportunities for promotion and develop outreach materials on the sections' work related to knowledge networks and capacity building initiatives;
Requirements
- A university degree in project management, business management, or equivalent;
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience preferably in project coordination, information management, communication and outreach, ideally in an international environment;
- Good oral and written command of English;
