Job Summary

The Resource Coordinator is a key member of the Health Services team at Southern Health-Santé Sud, responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of personal care and home support services to clients. This role requires a high level of initiative and independent judgment, with a focus on supervising and evaluating staff, as well as managing the recruitment and scheduling processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate Home Care Attendants, Home Support Workers, and Supportive Housing Companions to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Recruit, orient, and schedule staff to meet client needs and operational requirements
  • Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities, methods, and actions to address unusual matters
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Health Services – Home Care to develop and implement operational plans and policies
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and collective agreements
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, staff, and other stakeholders
  • Manage electronic employee/client scheduling applications and other software systems
  • Provide training and support to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve service delivery and staff performance

Requirements

  • Recognized post-secondary diploma or degree in a Health-related field or Human Resource Management
  • Combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Working knowledge of Home Care systems and programs
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
  • Working knowledge of Collective Agreements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and Outlook
  • Working knowledge in the usage of office equipment
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Resource Coordinator
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience in a unionized environment
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with electronic employee/client scheduling applications
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in a healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule staff/clients in a computerized scheduling system
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
  • Demonstrated ability to function and make decisions independently
  • Demonstrated ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and well-organized
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently with minimum supervision and as a team member
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a time-sensitive environment, managing competing priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality, including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums
  • Good work and attendance record

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
