About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Semsysco GmbH. As a key member of our Global Products Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for our semiconductor equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation, and test/validation of hardware associated with new semiconductor equipment.
  • Design parts using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings/plating's, working with potential suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured in accordance with performance and cost objectives.
  • Ensure documentation is consistent with SEMI, Lam Standards, and other applicable standards, demonstrating knowledge and ability to properly utilize them.
  • Perform analytical work to characterize and properly specify new and existing designs, including heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid/gas dynamics, and manufacturability.
  • Develop and execute test plans to generate characterization data sufficient to understand and validate the performance of the design.
  • Develop and present reports/presentations of excellent quality that communicate design intent, analysis, and validation at design reviews.
  • Closely interact with suppliers and other Lam internal departments to ensure reception of high-quality, well-tested, and cost-optimized solutions for the defined requirements.
  • May be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly, and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle.
  • Establish standards across all operational processes.
  • Prepare all required deliverables requested by the product development plan (e.g., FMEA, technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, design review presentations).
Requirements
  • Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience, or Mechanical Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience, or HTL with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the Semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • CAD (Solid Edge and NX) skills.
  • PDM System (Team Center) skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.

We offer a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
