Eumetsat is a leading European meteorological satellite agency, operating satellites that monitor the weather and climate from space 24/7. We are seeking an experienced Datacentre Services Infrastructure Manager to join our team in Darmstadt, Germany.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the evolution, development, and deployment of datacentre services, infrastructure, and solutions. This involves working on the establishment of co-located capacity increases and strategic development of the onsite datacentre facility with a focus on overall cohesion and infrastructure efficiency.

As a key member of the Technical and Scientific Support directorate's Infrastructures for IT and Data division, you will oversee engineering and maintenance of operational infrastructure within the Technical Infrastructure Building (TIB) and remote sites. You will also manage industrial support contracts, interface with other departments, and support the use and maintenance of infrastructure information systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing technical infrastructure for datacentres, including cooling and power supply systems;
  • Managing industrial support contracts for infrastructure installations and cabling;
  • Collaborating with the General Services Division on matters related to power, cooling, access control, and general infrastructure;
  • Supporting the management of operational equipment inventory and interfacing with physical inventory and asset management;
  • Monitoring and capacity planning, with generation and presentation of performance and consumption KPIs;
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of evolutions of infrastructure needed for enhanced operations and upgrades of multi-mission ground segment elements;
  • Preparing infrastructure to accommodate new ground systems, including pre-deliveries, definition of infrastructure interfaces, and applicable standards;
  • Deputising for the Competence Area Manager in their absence, in areas such as procurement and management of external contracts and day-to-day team management.

We offer a competitive salary of up to €8,000 NET per month, flexible working time, full medical coverage, attractive pension, 30 days of annual leave, and relocation allowance and support.

This role requires a university degree in an engineering discipline and proven experience in planning, implementing, and operating technical infrastructure for datacentres. You should have strong customer focus, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
