Data Scientist Opportunity at Erste Digital GmbH

We are part of Erste Group, the largest banking group in Central and Eastern Europe with a presence across 7 countries. Our Digital Division is responsible for shaping the future of internet banking through cutting-edge technologies such as AI-driven chatbots.

As a Data Scientist, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with business stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions that improve customer experience and financial health. You will be expected to build machine learning models and other solutions to identify patterns in our data and extract valuable insights.

The ideal candidate should have a strong analytical background with expertise in statistical methods and machine learning algorithms. Experience with data analysis, visualization, and development of generative AI solutions is highly desirable. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Spark, and SQL, along with knowledge of JavaScript and expertise in Databricks, is essential.

About the Role
  • Analyse chatbot usage and user requirements to drive feature development across multiple markets.
  • Develop and implement data science projects, including data pipelines, predictive modeling, and text classification.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from various departments to deliver projects on time.
  • Support the full data science process, focusing on data engineering, model optimization, and parameter tuning.
Requirements
  • A genuine interest in applying innovative problem-solving skills to real-world banking challenges.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and common machine learning algorithms.
  • In-depth experience with data analysis, visualization, and development of generative AI solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Spark, and SQL, along with knowledge of JavaScript and expertise in Databricks.
  • Practical experience with agentic systems and basic understanding of the banking business.
