Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Intern

Internship Opportunity at OCHA

OCHA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to support its disarmament and non-proliferation efforts. The successful candidate will assist in the planning and execution of outreach efforts and projects, including meetings, workshops, and training courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the substantive work of the Office and its cooperation on disarmament, non-proliferation, and international peace and security with Vienna-based organizations.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and seminars, and prepare meeting reports.
  • Contribute to the development and review of educational materials for diverse audiences.
  • Assist in the preparation of communication products, including social media accounts, email accounts, and website content.

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in a graduate school program or recent completion of a graduate degree.
  • Computer literacy in standard software applications.
  • Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to its ideals.
  • Ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
