At the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), we are seeking a highly skilled Expert in Global Cancer Control Planning to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior professional with expertise in national cancer control policy formulation, programme development, and management of national cancer services and workforce. As a member of our team, you will work closely with Section Heads and Directors to provide lead guidance and tools to Ministries of Health working groups throughout the global cancer control planning process.

About the Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical data and information to policy and decision makers, government health authorities, and technical professionals;
  • Analysing scientific evidence-based standards, guidelines, and protocols and converting them into SMART recommendations for low- and middle-income countries;
  • Conducting research and publishing in international peer-reviewed journals;
  • Developing timely, clear, comprehensive reports in English;
  • Demonstrating tact, diplomacy, and communication acumen, preferably in the health sector setting;
  • Working effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and respect for diversity;
  • Possessing advanced computer skills and internet search capabilities.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • An advanced University degree in area(s) related to global public health, with preferably additional qualifications in cancer or non-communicable diseases control or management;
  • International or region-specific experience, preferably in low- and middle-income countries, and covering comprehensive cancer control;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of French or Spanish highly desirable. Knowledge of other official languages (Arabic, Chinese, or Russian) an asset.
