Work DescriptionDouble-side cooled (DSC) power-modules have gained attention due to their low thermal resistance and better chip utilization. The trend towards silicon carbide semiconductors (SiC) promotes DSC-technology, allowing for increased total phase current per die area. However, monitoring junction temperature in operation is challenging due to the sandwich structure of the thermal stack.
This project aims to select, model, and apply a suitable temperature-sensitive electrical parameter (TSEP) method in a real inverter application using a DSC-silicon carbide module. Theoretical results will be evaluated through modeling and on a hardware demonstrator designed as part of this work.

As a student, you will receive a monthly fee of gross € 700,--. The duration of the project is approximately 6 months. We are committed to offering our graduates opportunities to start a career at Magna Powertrain after completing their studies.
