Responsibilities
A crucial aspect of this role is the ability to interpret SAP clients' business challenges and aspirations into actionable tactical and strategic roadmaps that outline the deployment of digital solutions offered by SAP, viewed from an in-depth understanding of our clients' needs.
- Serve as the principal SAP architect for our global clientele in Enterprise Architecture Transformation Planning, utilizing established methodologies and the latest Enterprise Architecture Management tools.
- Provide advisory services to clients with a comprehensive understanding of applications, Lines of Business (LoB), or industry sectors.
- Assess a client's current situation and objectives holistically (e.g., industry, LoB) and translate them into a suitable business-driven IT roadmap and architecture design based on SAP's offerings and cloud strategy, with a clear focus on client success.
- Challenge existing solutions, approaches, and concepts to produce a state-of-the-art and future-ready outcome.
- Identify distinct value drivers and develop compelling outcome-based value propositions to guide client decision-making.
- Operationalize clients' business strategies and pinpoint relevant components, approaches, and inputs to derive optimal solutions, helping clients leverage the unique advantages of our cloud offerings.
- Clarify expectations from various stakeholders, particularly in challenging scenarios; create solutions that integrate diverse perspectives and serve as a foundation for future SAP business. Collaborate with clients, partners, and SAP teams to ensure the best possible implementation.
- If necessary, step back and redefine concepts to ensure continuous improvement (agility in solution design).
- Drive knowledge management and innovation initiatives based on experiences with clients.
- Document successful methodologies, tools, etc., and make them accessible internally at SAP.
- Assist clients in their transition to SAP S/4HANA / Intelligent Enterprise.
- Fully comprehend and leverage the capabilities of SAP's technology platforms.
- Collaborate with our experts to deliver complex remote and onsite services for global clients, focusing on system optimization, conceptual planning, and road mapping while empowering clients with the latest best practice knowledge.
- Collaborate and co-innovate with the respective development and product teams.
Profile
- Extensive knowledge with a proven track record in any of the following areas where you have acted as a team lead or solution architect:
o Finance
o Logistics (e.g., MM, EWM, TM)
o Digital Supply Chain (e.g., PP, QM, PM)
o Supply Chain Planning (e.g., APO, IBP, PPDS)
o Other SAP solution areas
- Strong understanding of SAP cloud solutions and product roadmap (S/4HANA, RISE, Digital Supply Chain, or others)
- Knowledge of SAP Corporate Strategy and SAP Product Strategy: Ability to discuss the latest SAP Strategy and its related pillars with clients.
- Familiarity with SAP Products and Methods:
o Advanced knowledge of SAP Product Portfolio (on-premise and cloud solutions, S/4HANA)
o Industry Solutions (in related industry area) - Leverage industry and SAP reference architectures
- Certification/competence in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
o S/4HANA Functional Modules as mentioned above.
o Project Management (e.g., SAP Activate, PMI or SAP internal certification)
o SAP Professional Architect
o TOGAF
o Signavio
o Lean-IX
- Ability to work under pressure, in critical situations, and tight deadlines.
- Ability to deliver clear, concise presentations and communicate complex information effectively.
- Willingness and ability to travel to clients.
- Resilience in challenging client situations to sustain Enterprise Architecture engagements and ensure their success.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
